Description
An empty sheep pasture in Northern Ireland above Giants Causeway. The trail leading down to Giants Causeway is just a few steps beyond this fence. There were plenty of sheep in the surrounding area, just not in this frame.

There's something about this that says "Photo op." But the composition is uniquely yours, Pat. If it had been composed an inch to the right or left, it would be good, but not THIS good, and it would not have been a signature Pat Strand. Job well done.

Just visiting your galleries, Pat. This instantly caught my eye. Great shot, transporting me back to Ireland :) L/F

I love the way the space is contained and the way that light washes the scene. And that cobalt sky is a threat unto itself.

Less is sometimes so very much "more"....and this is a beautiful and natural example of that. You have a wonderful and delightful eye Patricia. I especially love this because there is a lot of scenery like it where I live...and I never tire of it. There is always some small change with the seasons or something I never noticed before...even if it's simply the light hitting that same fence post at a slightly different angle. Visiting your galleries is always a joy. v/f

Very nice, Patricia! I have a photo taken here in the Rogue Valley a couple of weeks back that has a similar flavor. I love the way the horizon disappears over the hill in your image. :) f/v
Patricia Strand replied:
Thanks again, Mick. I've heard the Rogue Valley is a beautiful place! I liked this shot because there were no sheep, and the emptiness appealed to me.

Wonderful. I can think of a number of reasons why this photo shouldn't work, but it does. Beautiful!
